United we Stand Divided we Fall!
This message launches our series “Restoring Shalom: From Disunity to Community” by exploring the opening chapters of 1 Corinthians. Though the Corinthian church lived in a different time and culture, their struggles—division, rivalry, status‑seeking, and spiritual immaturity—mirror many challenges the church faces today.
Paul confronts these divisions and calls the believers back to their true identity: God’s holy people, united in Christ. Their loyalty to human leaders exposed a deeper spiritual brokenness.
In this sermon, we look at Paul’s appeal to dismantle divisions, reject celebrity loyalty, and remember that Christ alone is Lord. We also reflect on what it means to live as God’s holy people, set apart for His shalom—moving from brokenness to wholeness, from rivalry to unity, and from self‑promotion to Christ‑likeness.
